Huh? How did this loser book get such good reviews. It is clumsy. And for those you who are, like myself, professors, just know that this thing is toxic. You’ll get to create all of your own homework questions. There are homework questions at the end of each chapter, but – surprise – students couldn’t do all of them from the narrative in the chapters. They’d have to make things up by themselves. Maybe that’s why the text includes answers to the questions on the next page. Yes, you read that right. The "homework" is already answered in the text itself, so of course assigning the questions is out of the question.
Give this thing a kick for me when you see it.
Filled with typographical errors, such as the one on page 385, in which the writers forgot to add 3 zeros to the end of a number, thus completely ruining the point they were trying to show us. I find it ironic that the error was in an equation designed to teach us how to accurately calculate costs, in order to make budgets. Each chapter is filled with more confusing formulas than college accounting 1 and 2 combined.
Not only are the in text questions only slightly related to the actual narrative presented in the relevant chapters, the questions from the test bank are similarly ambiguous. Most of my students were unable to complete more than half of the problems accurately because the book provides no clear basis for understanding of the material. Possibly the worst healthcare finance textbook I’ve encountered in my career.
